Moneyfacts.co.uk has issued a list of what it claims to be the most consistent savings accounts on the market.

The personal finance information website has put together the list to help consumers make the right choice of savings account account and steer clear from short-term, misleading offers.

Andrew Hagger of Moneyfacts.co.uk confirmed that the list would be of use to those who were fed up with rates being cut on their savings account by more than the cut in base rates.

The consistency report highlights that Sainsbury's Bank's internet savings account and Nationwide BS's e-savings account have been the most consistent among the internet accounts.

In addition, National Savings & Investments takes top-spot with its Direct Isa in the mini-cash Isa category.

Mr Hagger welcomed the call from Nationwide Building Society for a voluntary code to warn customers when their short-term bonus was to expire, but he indicated that it was unlikely to gain significant support.

In the meantime, he said that it was only Moneyfacts.co.uk that were offering such a comprehensive choice of savings best buys to enable customers to make the right choice.

Earlier this week, Moneyfacts.co.uk outlined the advantages of a consistent savings account, stating that often a simple, no-strings account will offer an equally good return.
