A price guarantee deal is being offered to home insurance customers by Churchill.
The company explains that, through its new offer, Churchill promises to beat consumers' previous home insurance arrangements by £30.
Home insurance with Churchill involves automatic cover of up to £40,000 for contents and £250,000 for buildings, while optional extras can incorporate personal items, accidental damage and legal protection.
Customers are told they can benefit from 24-hour claims as well as emergency helplines.
The deal is available subject to a number of conditions, one of which is that the renewal quote must offer equivalent cover to Churchill's and be at least £75.
Eligible consumers must also have been claim-free for at least three years.
Martin Scott, head of Churchill Home Insurance, remarks that the deal may be particularly attractive to householders at a time when post-Christmas finances can be stretched.
"Our price guarantee enables new customers to obtain lower cost insurance at a time when many householders are under increased financial pressure after Christmas," adds Mr Scott.
The announcement comes after Direct Line publicised its own offer of a one-third discount to home insurance customers who apply online or over the phone.
