A current account released today by Alliance & Leicester is designed to appeal to people over the age of 50.
According to the bank, the current account includes a "series of lifestyle benefits" such as annual travel insurance for those up to age 79, taking into account recent research which indicates that over-50s are becoming increasingly worried about their health.
For £10 a month, the account allows holders to access private medical consultants, as well as £750 to put towards out-patient diagnostic tests.
According to Emma Walkley, senior current account manager at Alliance & Leicester, the account provides customers with "great incentives" to switch.
"For many people who don't have private medical insurance including those who no longer receive it free with their job, the quick access to medical advice and diagnosis for health concerns are benefits well worth the £10 a month alone," she said.
She added that the travel insurance is particularly beneficial to those over 60, who may otherwise have a difficult or expensive time getting insured before they take a vacation.
Alliance & Leicester research, conducted by YouGov, has revealed that 13 per cent of people aged 55 and older take more than five holidays each year, with 54 per cent of over-50s planning to make travel a priority in the next five to ten years.
According to the Travel Industry Association, shopping and visiting museums are the top travel activities for over-55s.
