Santa's driving habits may not bode well for his car insurance premiums, according to provider elephant.co.uk.
Brian Martin, managing director of the car insurance firm, said that the levels of mileage, speed and "tendency to enjoy an alcoholic tipple" could all drive his theoretical insurance premiums through the roof.
However, Mr Martin also mentioned some of the more positive elements of Santa's driving history: its sheer length.
"Santa has a few hundred years on our oldest policyholder who's 87 years old, and with a long driving history and no theft or accident claims, I imagine he has a few years no-claims bonus under his belt."
The managing director of the car insurance provider adds that the fastest car elephant.co.uk has on its books is the Lamborghini Murcielago - but adds that elephant.co.uk's underwriters would have difficulty calculating the impact of the 2,700 mph, 12-reindeer-powered sleigh on Santa's insurance premium.
In other car insurance news released recently, it was revealed by Admiral that more than a third of households in the UK have more than one car - and that these families are less likely to have an accident.
Admiral calculated the figure by studying more than 200,000 car insurance claims.
